About Us
What we do
The main function of the Building Control Partnership is to ensure that building works are undertaken in accordance with the technical standards covering the design and construction of buildings referred to in the Building Regulations 2000 (amended).
We do this mainly by checking and approving plans of the proposed works and carrying out site inspections to ensure that the works are built in accordance with the Building Regulations.
If you are considering or designing a building project, we are keen for you to get the right advice at an early stage, talk to us first for information on the need for an application or how you can access pre-submission advice
For new work you can make an application by either Full Plans, Building Notice or Regularisation application to Building Control Partnership before starting any work. Approval will be granted if the work you propose complies with the Building Regulations.
Building Control Partnership also deal with any Dangerous Structures, Demolitions, Street Naming and Numbering and promoting accessible buildings for all.
