Copies of Building Regulations Approval Notices and Completion Certificates

Copies of Building Regulations Approval Notices and Completion Certificates for properties in both Gosport and Fareham Borough Council areas can be supplied upon written request:

• £10.21 (incl. VAT) per copy of approval notices / completion certificates

Please allow for up to 5 working days for the return of such information.

If you require these certificates within 48 Hours of the request, the above charge is increased to £20.42 (incl. VAT) per copy

Please note: Completion certificates were not issued prior to 1991 as they were not part of the Building Control process at that time.

Supply of Non Standard Information from Building Control records

• £26.00 (incl VAT) Non standard information letter
• £26.00 (incl VAT) letter re exempt structures after construction. (No charge prior to construction)

Building Control historical property searches

The Building Control Partnership holds extensive property records on behalf of Fareham and Gosport Borough Councils.

Electronically searchable records are held on computer for Building Regulation works carried out to properties from 1992 in Fareham and 2003 in Gosport.

Extensive archived records are held on properties before these dates but access to them involves manual searching of index cards and microfiche records. The cost involved in carrying out this research is therefore considerably higher than that charged for accessing electronic records.

• Emails, written enquiries and fax will be answered within five working days or acknowledged within two days and you will be informed of when you can expect a full reply.
• A research and archive retrieval fee of £21 is required for any enquiries we receive with regards to Building Regulation history searches that can be undertaken electronically.
• A research and archive retrieval fee of £31 is required for any enquiries we receive with regards to Building Regulation history searches where no Building Regulation Reference Number(s) are quoted or where the research is required to be before 2003 (Gosport Properties) or 1992 (Fareham properties) these are pre computer records, and therefore on an archived system.
• Please make cheques payable in all cases to Fareham Borough Council. Payment must be received before any searches are carried out.
